Ive recently found a problem with my exhaust manifold, its cracked right down the middle. After talking to numerous sources Ive gotten different answers to where the o2 sensor location should be. Now my truck has it on a pipe after the exhaust manifold, its a single wire o2 sensor. The replacements Ive found so far have the o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold itself? A few dont but most do? Would this be a okay replacement, or should the o2 sensor definitely be after the junction where the pipe hooks up to the exhaust manifold? Thank you for your help, I definitely want to get the right one.
This is a Dorman brand manifold. As you can see it has the hole tapped for a o2 sensor but also comes with a block off plate for trucks with different applications.
My advice would be keep your sensor where it is. But if you want to change it up this manifold would give you that option. I found this one on Amazon for $75 and comes with all your gaskets and collector hardware.

i wonder if someone did a custom install on the pipe, because the correct location is in the manifold, it's an unheated sensor.
i'd dig up a manifold from the junkyard or something.
87 and older it is in the manifold like Wallys picture and is a single wire. 88 and newer it is in the exhaust pipe near the transfer case and is a 4 wire sensor.
I like Dormans replacement manifolds and have had great luck with them.
