If I’m getting a 30 spline chromo birfield do I need to get a 30 spline complete axle or would it fit directly to my stock oem axle. I think my is 27 spline. Stock 85 SFA. Any additional parts needed other than the 30 spline birfield. Looking to purchase from TG..

 

Stock 30 spline at manual hub and diff. 27 spline where birf and axle shaft meet.
30 splines are 30 everywhere. You can't mix and match.

Splines have to match where they connect in the birf. It's pretty simple.
They are all 30 splines at the diff and manual hub on SFA.

Splines stock
Manual hub end 30
BIRF female end 27
Axle BIRF male end 27
Axle diff male end 30

30 splines upgrade the 27s to 30s as this is the weak point and where they connect, thus you can't mix and match.

So the 30 represents just the hub side only or is it both otter and female side of the birfield??

So TG 30s are Version 2?

What about 27 spline birfields, are those version 1? (Better Than Stock or Longfields)
