Hi everyone. My name is Jeremy, and I'm from Hot Springs. I just bought my first 4Runner, an 88 with a 3.0l gas engine. Picked it up at a dealership in Jonesboro. After 5 days of owning it, I found out it has a head gasket issue and water in a couple of cylinders. Needless to say, I'm disappointed. I want to do an engine swap. I would love to put a modern diesel into it. I need enough power to haul a boat, but I also really want good gas mileage. I'm not a mechanic. So can anyone recommend a mechanic within a days drive, say between Houston, Nashville, and Tulsa, that would be willing to take on a diesel swap without trying to rape me? And if not, can someone recommend a mechanic that would be willing to do the swap to a 3.4l? That seems like a less complicated swap. Thanks in advance.
