virus...

i ran norton, and it shows i have a virus. it wont delete it, and says that it cannot be done. it showed it as being a trojan as well as being a mmc.exe file. ( i think). any one have any suggestions on what i should do to get rid of it?

perhaps this has something to do with the crazy amount of pop ups ive been getting even though i have the google toolbar?

dood go to download.com get spybot search and destroy install and run it. go through the wizard when the program starts, back up the registry for sure, then search and destroy, it will get alot of the spyware and stop almost all popups, you can run ad-aware after spybot also it sometimes gets more stuff. 90% of the time this fixes this kind of stuff. if norton is still reporting the virus go to their site and do a search for that virus, they will have instructions on how to remove it.

sometimes spybot cannot even remove it. If its alot of popups, then that's probably the case. You may also want to Google the filenames.
