iPod help please

My Reg file on my PC got corrupt, long story, do not wanna go into it.

Hooked up my iPod just now to charge it, and iTunes erased all of my Blue Oyster Cult off of it as it said I was not authorized to listen to the tunes.

I formatted twice in the past month, and each time I forgot deauthorize my PC from the iTunes Music Store.

I think I have 2 more chances with them, how do I reauthorize it again so iTunes will copy my purchased tunes to my little guy?

I clicked on the deauthorize PC from the help menu, and this did not help.

I fixed it.

The songs of course no longer showed up on the iPod, but they still showed up in iTunes library.

I double clicked on one to play it, and the password and username for my Apple account came up.
I put in the info, and it reauthorized my PC and iPod.

It says I have authorized 3 out of 5 PCs now.

The thing to do I guess if I need to format down the road again is to go into iTunes and deauthorize this PC, then reauthorize it again after a format.

What a bunch of crap you gotta go through because they worried abut the tunes on the PC.
