5/8 vs 3/4 wave cb antennas

whats the difference?

firestick has a 7 ft cb antenna but its 3/4 wave while the rest of their antennas are 5/8

i currently have some 4 foot one but might upgrade soon.....

 

radiation angle of the signal and receive capabilities are the only difference.The 5/8 and 3/4 refer to the electrical lenght of the antenna or in laymans terms...how much wire is wraped around the antenna.

IMHO firesticks are crap.Get a Wilson 1000 and youll notice a big difference.Personally I use a Predator 10K mobile with a 27" shaft and dual coils.Best antenna made,period,but sometimes not practical depending on application.

I have found the best results using a 5/8 on both my base station and my mobile.

 

i have never had a problem with my firestik, and my cb seems to work fine..... i never hear much traffic other than spanish guys on the radio, but i live in a big city... i do get the weatherbands nice and clear though..... where is a good place to buy antennas online.....

Both of these companies are reputable online stores.Ive ordered from both succesfully many times.

Dont get me wrong,firesticks do work,but there are many that work soooooo much better.
