What do you think about 3rd gen acoustics?
First off.... Im SUPER picky with sound. So i dont expect many people to even notice what im noticing.....if it is vehicle related.
Im running a complete system in my 3rd gen.
Kenwood Excelon DVD (DDX7017)
Mcintosh 4 ch amp
Alpine MRV 1507 large class a/b
Old Phoenix Gold Ti12d sub
5 pharad cap
Elemental designs E9.65 6.5" components
No rears
Dynamat substitute, and padding in everything.
With out getting in to techincal theories, Ill just ask the guestion..
Is anyone else having problems with ear fatigue in their 3rd gen 4runner cab? If im listening to music that is "complex" (alot going on) I feel like modal frequencies (fequencies that refuse to die in a timely manner) are causing the mids to bloat, and ALL dynamics go away. This causes my ears to fatigue immediatly and I can feel/hear a pysical distortion in my ear and everything turns to mud.
Ive tried several things, moving tweeters, changing speakers, settings, x-overs, parametric eq's, phasing, sub configuration.
I dont believe this is me, as Ive been working with and listening to home and car setups for years! I can take the same mateiral into my home listening room and all is well, even at rediculous volumes. (I added another crack to my basement drywall....)
So anyone?
If anyone is interested in more of the technical aspect, ive been hashing this out on the elemental designs board
