Moving amps, but not enough wire...

Ok, this may seem like a no-brainer to people...but I currently have my amps just screwed to a mdf board sitting open in the cargo area. They're wired with just enough cable to be where they are (close to the back seat).

However i'm thinking of doing something like this guy: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/193624/5

and need to move the amps closer to the rear hatch.

? is, is there any way to add extra wire? Could I run the current cables i have into a distro block or something then run fresh, shorter cables the extra distance to the newly-placed amps?

Hope this makes sense...

yep, that shouldnt be a problem. i would rather use a distribution block than trying to crimp those big wires together. id be worried the crimp might get loose and cause a short. i have a 4 gauge ran into the back seat, and split into 8 gauge into 2 amps.

Yea I agree, crimping would be risky. Now, since I have 2 amps and a cap (and have no real clue what a distro block looks like...) any clue as to how that would work?

the distribution block usually has input for 1 cable and splits into 2,3,4 outputs.. something like this.
