If I installed new speakers on '96 4Runner...?
I'm thinking about installing new speakers to replace the stock speakers on my 1996 SR5 4runner and was wondering how much better they would be as far as bass response.
I have a new Kenwood 5025 deck and would like to know if the bass would be much more responsive than stock speaker without the addition of a subwoofer.
I currently have played CD's in my Runner and then in my mom's 2005 car with a "monsoon sound system hat has no subwoofer" and I found bass that didn't even exist with my OEM 4Runner speakers.
Can you add an amplifer to upgraded speakers or is the head unit the only way to change output for regular 0EM replacement speakers.
THANKS for the help as I don't know much about sound systems.

your bass response will increase, but not as much as if you didnt have a sub. i know when i listen to music on my computer, and then listen to it in my car, there are a lot more bass frequencies that i hear in my car, just because it has the capabilities to play them. not all speakers do. in fact, few do. and yes, you can get an amp to add too the speakers, but that can get rather pricey, and time-consuming as far as wiring goes.

i loved the way mine sounded before my sub. now that i had a sub, its MUCH easier to control, much cleaner and clearer. no door rattles, and everything is very crisp.
swap em out.. youll be glad you did. check out my site in my sig for info on what i did.
