Not being one to 'hop on the bandwagon' or 'keep up with the Jones's', I've pretty much rolled my eyes at the whole iPod/MP3 player hype of the last few years. I'm not THAT into music.

Now, though, I'm starting to think that having something portable to play all my ill-gotten-songs on would be handy. But I'll be honest...I'm a cheap bastard, and I also want a little more flexibility than JUST playing what is loaded on the (limited) memory drive. (256K is too small for me, and I ain't payin' what they askin' for a 1 gig). So what I'm looking for is something that:

Plays MP3's/WMA's (I couldn't care less about video capabilities)
Has AM/FM reception (I'm a talk radio junkie) and possibly shortwave as well (not critical)
Has audio outputs (for jacking into larger systems)
Accepts some form of external memory (jumpdrive, smart media, etc)
Operates on 12vdc (or at least comes with an adapter for such)

I'm willing to pay more to get the features I want, but it seems as though (as usual) what I'm after doesn't exist. Perhaps it's my lack of selecting the right search parameters.....which is why I'm posing here. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
