antenna question

how hard would it be to put a switch on the antenna motor so that it could be raised or lowered whenever you want. like on the 80 series land cruisers. i think my 88 4runner had a factory power antenna cause there was a switch in it, but the previous owner put on a whip. anyone have a way to do this on a 3rd gen 4runner.

Should be very easy. Just identify the antenna activation wire from the back of the radio, put a switch into it, using a full time power wire, and done!.

so basically if i identify that wire, and put it into a switch, then whenever the switch is on the antenna functions as normal, but if i turn the switch off, the antenna would go down, yet the radio would still be on

where can i find a wiring digram of the toyota stereo wiring harness?
