4Runner Rocks!!!
#1
Just got my truck back from Cartunes today and the new system sounds GREAT!!!
MB Quart QSD 216's in the front, PCE 213's in the back, driven by a Mac MCC 404M through #10 speaker wires and Dynamat Xtreme in all the doors......
No woofer, listened to the 216's at the store and thought I'd try them before I went for another amp and a woofer, saved myself another grand 'cause I've got plenty of bass if it's on the CD. And real clean, tight bass too. You probably can't hear me coming from 2 blocks away, but inside the truck it's absolutely amazing.
Sourced from an Alpine 9847 I had put in by American Radio last week when I had the truck in for seat heaters.
Loved the Mac when I first heard it but the price put me off until I listened to a couple other 100x4 amps, 2 Alpines and an Xtant, and there was no comparison. I spend most of the day in my truck and figured it was worth the money.
Probably upgrade to the Nakamichi CD 700II when I save up some more $, just couldn't afford it right now.
to Cartunes of Atlanta for those of you in the area, real class outfit with competitive pricing and an impeccable install! Not so big
to Am Radio, charged me $280 for the 9847 installed, probably not a bad price for a stand-alone install, but I also had 1-1/2 seat heaters done at the same time. They couldn't do the lower section on the passenger seat 'cause of the weight sensor for the airbag, but only knocked off $75.00 on the total.
Anyway I'm happy. Now if my ears would just stop ringing......
