1987 Pickup custom rear speakers!

I got to the point where the crappy front speakers just weren't cutting it...so i thought of a pretty cool idea and it started rolling from there!

Layed the template out and started cutting the hole with the dremmel..

then layed the speakers in and hooked them up!

and the other side.

They are Alpine 5 1/4" speakers and i got them from sonicelectronics.com for $59!

i like this better than cutting holes in the door panels. looks like there is more room behind the speaker than there would be behind the door panel. Which can be tricky to find low profile speakers.

looks good. how much sound do you lose once the seats are back in place? also may want to think about throwing some sound deadener around them since htey are mounted to bare metal. also may want to throw some electrical tape over the speaker connections, in case they would ever come loose or somehow touch metal, keep them from grounding out.
