Just need some help first time upgrading my 4runner and I like the looks of 3gen bumpers so is there a way to modify a mount or something like that for them to work?

 

There is always a way to make almost anything work.

Now are you talking aftermarket or stock??

Then just how picky are you does the fit need to be perfect or if you end up with a 2" gap can you live with that . just because the way the new brackets have to attach

Then I have no clue what these generations mean

 

I'm thinking about a 3in lift with 33 or 35s and aftermarket bumpers are what I'm talking about.

 

None will bolt up. With some metal, a grinder, and welder you can make any of them work. 86-89 4Runners and 90-95 4Runners share the same mounting points up front but later years are all different.

 

The front of the frames on newer vehicles are made to crush to absorb impact .

This is one of the big differences as well as the size of the frame.

Like I said anything can be made to fit .

Myself I go with function over looks anytime.
