Can I move my rear axle foward with Cevy springs.

So I'm wondering if any body has done this. I drive a 94 ex. cab pickup, and all these Cherokee's can get through all the tight tree spots cause there wheel base is so short. So the question is can I move my axle forward when I do the Chevy spring swap? What problems would I run into. And as far as the bed goes I plan on just extending the wheel well forward with the angle grinder, and then bobbing it. And eventually make a flat bed.

With skills and tools you can do anything. Moving the rear forward will require shortening of the driveshaft as well. Why waste time of bobbing bed if your going to flat bed it. Is your truck regular cab long bed or extended cab?

I have a 87 & 93 toyota's. both regular cab shortbeds and I have no problems at all. To be honest the jeeps have problems following me.

It's extended cab, and a six ft. bed? I figured I'd have to get a drive shaft made either way. And I didn't think there would be that much to just didn't know if I was missing something.

I did the Chevy spring swap and originally put in the stock location. Later when I went to larger tires and wanted to rotate my axle for a CV drive shaft I bought 3 hole spring perches which gives you options on moving your axle forward or rearward 1 inch.

I moved it forward 1 inch to give a little more room at the rear of the wheel well for the 35's and 37's when the springs flexed.

You can put them wherever you want but, like Toyotaboy said, why do all that now if you're going to flat bed it later.

You also need to shorten the brake lines and E- brake cables.

Then of course make new upper shock mounts

Just how much do you plan on moving it??

Can`t go very far you will be hitting the gas tank. If your going this far It should be easy to move the tank.

I'm thinking I'll probably just put in the stock location for now and wait to move it when I make the flat bed. I'm trying to go forward any where from like 7-8 inches. I'll probably end up making some kind of custom fuel cell, one of my buddies used a keg. Another one of my buddies used a boat gas tank. So I'll defiantly figure something out I was just checking out my options. But as for this week I'm finally putting the solid axle under it !!! And next week the Chevy springs are going in.
