I have an 82 four speed 4wd and got a 5 speed from a buddy out of an 84. I never did any measurements or anything until now since I am putting in a new motor with the 5 speed on it. Shifter holes line up but the transmission is 9 inches longer. The front drive shaft has to be longer than the original and the rear drive shaft has to be shorter than the original. Will drive shafts work out of an 84 or 85??? Also the x member is 3 inches further back......any suggestions? Thank you!
