Unhappy 88 22re dies at stop light, starts when rolling

Hi everyone i have a 88 22re pickup it starts and drives fine however i have an intermittent problem where when i stop at a stoplight truck looses all power and dies "like dead battery" then however if someone pushes the truck and it starts rolling power comes back on and i can start it with the key and take off with it acting like no problem happened at all. this is very frustrating for be ive followed many electrical lines looking for something grounding out but have found nothing.

did you remember to take your foot off the clutch?

seriously: try the idle-up valve (search if you don't know where it is, on top of the throttle body), timing, check the plugs, test the alt and batt. do the obvious and free things first, that will help narrow it down.

your talking about where you use the flat head to adjust idle? yeah i have my idle set a little low like 500rpm but problem is i don't see how that can just make it seem as if the battery is dead unless its rolling, also ive replaced battery and alternator recently checked to see if plugs were loose, ill take out plugs today and examine them. also timing is spot on

take the alt to an auto-parts store. most of the big-names can test the alt for free

like i said, just keep going through all the obvious and free stuff
