U-Joint Repairs

U-Joint Repairs
Whether offroad on the East or West Coast, what is the likelihood of breaking a U-Joint? I was reading about a U-joint repair kit with U-joint, yoke, and U-bolts included. Not sure if it's Toyota/4Runner specific. Didn't know if this was something I should consider adding to an offroad kit.

I have yet to see a toyota truck or runner that uses u-bolts or straps to retain the bearing caps. Ours are retained in the yokes by a cir-clip, and have to be pressed out. I could be wrong, but as I said I've yet to see one.

Shane,
I read the article quickly and I'm sure it wasn't discussing the kit specifically for Toyotas.
I'm still trying to educate myself on how to do field repairs and general maintenance for that matter. If you were me, trying to make a 4Runner repair kit, what else would you suggest I look at to include besides the yoke, u-joint, and cir-clips?
My ultimate goal is to have a small kit of items that may break while on the trail. Thanks.

From what I've seen the driveshaft u-joints are pretty stout. If I were you I'd rather have a full spare driveshaft that I could just bolt in, plus that covers the shaft itself getting destroyed, but even so I don't carry that level of spare parts. But you would need the basic disassembly tools to remove the clips and a BFH to pound the caps out and back in.
