Exclamation gearing funkyness

ok.. so I was searching around looking for gearing info cause I thought I might want to regear soon.. I decided to check and see what my stock gearing was. my axle code is G144 which I guess = 4.88 gearing.

Now I have 2 questions:

The tag that listed all my axle info has something about 225/75/15 tires on it, and I thought 4.88 stock only came with the stock 31" tire package?

Is the stock 4.88 replaceable?

thanks

after searching around for the G144 number, I've found others with the inconsistant tire size and gear number, but I guess the gear number is the only thing that really matters... my guess is that i've got 4.88's so I guess I'll leave it alone until I have $ for 5.29's and lockers.

Yeah, my wife's 'Runner had the 31" tire package...so it had 4.88 gears. I noticed the tire-size mix-up on that label too.

I read somewhere that the R&P were a different size when they came stock from Toyota as 4.88. I could be imagining it...but it might make things tricky when you re-gear.

since I bought the truck already modified I have no way to tell what it was like stock. I'm just guessing the door sticker is right.. (I hope)
