Crawler box Q's

Hey guys..

I've just aquired a built 4.7 box, which was a bit of an impulse buy (as rare as hens teeth over here in the UK) but something I wanted on the truck eventually.

My truck was originally a 3.0l Diesel auto, it has a chain drive trans at the mo, so im guessing its the same unit as the V6, or 4cyl turbos you guys have, ie 23 spline.

Now..lol..the new case is 21 spline, and i'm now running the 1-UZ engine and trans, I was planning on swapping the input gear on my new box for a 23 spline but read the dont fit up to the r151f..why is that, and does anyone know if it would fit upto the lex' box?

I was planning on just running the 4.7 box, but could maybe source a 23 spline transfer case and build a dual setup..didnt really want to run the 21 on the back though..

Might be best to email Marlin to figure this out. Diesel here is hens teeth.
I will say that you're gonna want the duals. I ran a single with 4:70 at times it was low was tow low and high too high. But terrain dependent.

Cheers for the reply..waiting on a response from Marlin.

I've seen folks on lextreme using the inchworm pre-runner adapter to get onto the back of the Lexus' box, and folks using the auto trans adapter to get onto the back of the 4-runner auto (a340f?)..

Whats pickling my brain is: when you pull the rear housing off the lexus trans' it's exactly the same as the 4-runner..cut the output shaft and tweak the spd sensor and trigger wheel and the chain drive case bolts straight up. Does the pre-runner kit fit without cutting down the shaft?
