alternator question
so I have taken the liberty of checking this site prior to duplicating a question already answered, and I am in luck so here it goes. my 99 taco 4x4 has been great up until know. last night i noticed that when my window is completely closed and i activate the switch to roll up my window, i notice that the lights dim. no problem with the radio, no drain with the brake lights. i also removed the positive side of the battery while the engine was running and the motor kept on running. the batter has been replaced within the past year/year 1/2. any assistance from fellow taco owners with a knac for diagnosing is appreciated.

1. Never take off the battery cable when your vehicle is running. If your voltage regulator is not working properly, you will let the magic smoke out of a lot of electronics.
2. Avoid pushing the up button on the power windows when they are up. That dimming of the lights is the motor working too hard to move the window up, causing excess wear on the motor, and damaging the switch contacts.
3. If it ain't broke, why are you trying to break it? Everything is checking out normal, so stop trying to break your truck.

"Magic smoke."
I love it.
I've often wondered why there's no limit switch on the power windows. That's how I catch my son playing with the button, by watching the dash lights flicker. He thinks I have eyes in the back of my head.
