33s x 12.5 r15 do I need regearing??

Hey guys, new to the forums. First off I would say what's my rig. 1993 Yoda pickup 22re 5sdm 4x4. So my plan this year was going to buy a tuff country 4-5inch lift so I can get 33s, I would like to have 12.5.... I currently have 31s. As far as I know everything driveline axel wise is all factory. Would i have to regear? How much "reliability/efficiency" would I loose?

A 12.50 is a pretty wide tire, so I would guess you'll need wheels with a different offset. I don't think you'll need 4 inches of lift to fit 33s. There are some FAQs and stickies with some good lift and the info. As for gearing, 4.88s with 33s put you back close to stock, not sure what you meant by efficiency.

I own a 93 that sits on 33x12.5-15 Toyos.

Wanted to keep mine as low as possible, soI believe I'm sitting at ~22.5" with a mild lift and I had to pound and trim the pinch weld/firewall to clear everything being this low. I have 4.88 gears and couldn't imagine driving it with stock gears, 5th gear would be pretty much useless is my guess - but people still do it! Oh yeah, it required different wheels to make the tires fit.

4.88's are what you want for 33's
Make sure that is what you want to stay with that tire size.
I did two gear swaps in a year on my old 84 going from stock 4.10's/31's to 4.88's/33's than 5.29's and 35's in about a 12 month period
