96 Landcruiser FJ80 - Soft Brakes - LSPV

Hello! I have searched the forums and cannot find a clear answer. The brakes on my 96 Landcruiser FJ80 are soft. My brother has bled the brakes and the load sensing proportioning valve (LSPV), but the brakes remain soft. There is significant oil leaking into the boot below the LSPV. I found a replacement part on-line, but thinking of deleting the entire LSPV unit, but I cannot find a clear recommendation on the process. If any of you have completed the process successfully we would appreciate hearing how you made it work. Thank you!

Well, if you go to 4crawlers website I believe he has a trick to do that. Basically, you cut the long arm that goes to the axle a couple inches from the LSPV and tie it up enough to set the right bypass pressure to the drums.
