Hello,

I have a 1999 Toyota 4runner with a v6 engine.

I am pretty sure that my Knock Sensor wiring harness is failing as I keep getting error codes for both, simultaneously. This throws my car into LIMP mode and that just plain sucks. I've had a mechanic test the sensors themselves and they came back good. He didn't think that there was an engine knock either. Right now the most likely culprit seems to be the wiring harness or a vacuum leak. This conclusion matches with my own suspicions from trying to diagnose this over the past couple of months.

I think that I need a mechanic in the Portland area who feels comfortable doing electrical stuff. Two shops have already told me that they don't want to mess with a harness because its too complicated and they don't think that they can do it properly. If I had the time then I'd try to do it myself but I don't and I've never crawled that deep into my engine before which makes me a little nervous.

Do you guys know anyone trustworthy and competent enough to solve this thing?

Thank you!
