POS 2001 T4R resurrection

Hey everybody, this is my second 4runner. The first was a 88 that I, very reluctantly, had to sell about a year ago and I now have a 2001. Living in LA most the used 4x4s are either thrashed or 15 years old a 8K plus. I found myself a 01 for a decent deal and like most used cars things have surfaced over the last few months. The goals to get all the meat and potatoes stuff done so I can start spending that $ on some off-road stuff! Anyways please feel free to comment, ask questions or even better answer my questions because lord knows I need all the help I can get.

Bought with 207,xxx on the clock. Smashed in bumper, flares are in need of some work, rear bumper dented, needs t-belt and pretty much every other maintenance taken care of. Was bough new for a girl in high school and she drove it since I bought it in November last year. Heres how it was the day I got it.

After a little mix match of a bumper I got on CL and some paint its now a little better.

Since then I've done the t-belt, water pump, belts, radiator hoses, wires/plugs and some other littler stuff. Unfortunately I've had a broken elbow for the past couple months so I have a box with ball joint, tie rods and other parts I can install till I get better. Hopefully soon though!

Anyone know how much (if any) vibration would be cause by the dynamic dampener being worn out when driving normally? Mine is blown out. And if anyone needs to replace their upper intake hose I found a decent one on ebay for like 15 bucks. The rubber is pretty soft but it has worked perfectly and was better than spending 75 on a oem.

So after my elbows been resting for 4 months I can finally start to work on the truck. I just changed VC's and every damn plastic wiring covering broke but no more burning oil! I have a bunch of parts ready to install and have even more on the way.

So I'll be off for a few days and can get some work in, last week I added speed bleeders and bled the brakes. The dumb master cyl will still need to be replaced soonish.

Changed the valve cover gaskets and cracked one tightening it so that will be fun having to replace them again. Got my snorkel and trans cooler in so those will be going on soon and bought a cheap ebay basket, gonna waterproof it.

Waiting for my light bar to put inside the bumper so I can bed line the flares and bumpers. Got a replacement flare piece I needed but had to glue to rubber back on.

Also replaced the rear trunk lift supports, they are okay for the money if anyone needs some.

\Got a replacement flare but had to epoxy a washer on because some dumb dumb drilled out the rivet with a big bit. Also bondo'd the holes from the flares.

I've got a camping trip in three weeks so I've been trying to get everyone done to prepare for the 8,00 miles plus trip. Dropped the trans pan and thank God there were no metal pieced and bigger than fine sand. Cleaned al that crap out and replaced the trans mount and sway bar bushings. Also got some clear lens turn signals.

Also picked up a pair of rear OME coils for $35, I guess its time order everything I need to lift it.

Installed the snorkel last night, what a pita that thing was. But all in all I got it on and after 9 years I finally have one.
