WTB/ Bumper questions/ I got rear ended... again.

Got rear ended... again... The paint dried on this bumper probably 4 or 5 months ago... its not too bad, just one of those things.

Anyways, Anyone ever replaced Just the piece thats bent? (see below)

Does anyone have an old piece they would sell? Or a sweet steel one (that will teach people to rear end me...)

Pics..

Fix the bumper. Invest in a trailer hitch and leave in the receiver.

Unfortunately I know how to replace that. I was hit & run in a parking lot a couple months ago. You need to pull off the step plate across the top center bumper section. Drop out your spare tire. Then painstakingly pop the step plate up and off from under the truck.

You've then got 4 bolts to unscrew. One behind the step plate you pulled off. One on the bottom where the extension (the part your replacing) and center bumper piece meet. There are two more inside the bumper - closer to the wheel well. One down low. The other is up high. For the high bolt push the mud flap from the inside towards the tire and you will have enough room for a ratchet and regular height socket.

The mud flap will come off with the bumper extension...trust me it's easier this way than taking the mud flap off first. Be careful when unscrewing the bumper so that you don't scrape up the paint on the rear quarter panel as the bumper gets loosened.

Flashlight highly recommended. Ratcheting socket and some size mm socket...can't remember which one. Short extension bar for the lower bolt close to wheel well. Safety glasses to keep crap from falling in your eyes.

Hopefully you got luckier than me and the bumper extension wasn't pushed into the quarter panel taking off paint in there...see pic
