TRD air filter, worth it?
so i was at jiffy lube getting my oil changed, and they tell me i need to replace my air filter. well i didn't have the cash that day, but i reckon i need one. i have 9000 miles on my runner, and it looked kinda dirty. my question is, should i get a standard air filter for 15 bucks or go for the 60 dollar TRD air filter? it's supposed to be reusable, that sounds good. does it really increase performance?

After you get the amsoil, don't forget to do the deckplate mod!

Actually:
The deck mod with s/c works fine. Running the s/c with aftermarket intakes such as K & N or Injen will not work good. But running the s/c with the deck mod works great. I tried my Injen intake, the stock box and then the stock box with Amsoil filter and deck mod. With the Ingen intake I suffered from fuel starvation since it was inducing way too much air into system. With the stock air box it was better. I had 6 to 6 1/2 lbs. of boost. When I did the deck mod I run a constant 7 lbs. of boost and seems just alittle more responsive. I think it's a good combonation without doing a fuel system delivery upgrade. I think the deck mod plus Dr Zs set-up would be a good upgrade for non-s/c engines.
