04 Tacoma 3.4L. When ridding down the road just crusing at any speed (not cruise set) The truck act like I just let off the gas. It has done it when accelerating also and the other day I had the cruise on going down the interstate and the check engine light came on and it started slowin down. I had to push the gas pedal over half way down befor it would pick up and speed. When I pulled over and shut the truck off and checked it couldnt find anything wrong. My inital thought was something in the tranny cause the motor was reving fine when in park. got back in and it went on. next time I shut it off then back on the check engine light was off. Now its cuttin up again on me. Could this be the TPS?? Or somethin else. thanks!!

 

Pull the codes. That will at least give you a starting point.

 

After digging deeper into it I found a guy that had the same exact problem with his 03. The 03 and 04 has a apps on the throttle body that causes it and the onlty fix is a new throttle body!!! I will pull the code though just to make sure thanks

 

OK I found some throttle bodies on ebay for around 100 bucks. If someone would check them out for me and let me know if it will work or if I need to get other parts and would be beter off gettin one from the dealer, witch I dont want to do, I would greatly prechiact it cause I dont want to buy it and then have somethin that wont work. I dont know alot about these trucks cause I just got mine a few months ago. Thanks again!!
