I live in the north east where rust is rampant and a lot of tacomas come up on craigslist with rotted out frames. Question is can you buy a replacement tacoma frame from some distributor and do a frame swap? I can't find anywhere i could buy a tacoma frame from just wondering if anybody else knew anything about this.

 

At this time till all the warranty frame claims are finished as the vendor can not even keep up with the demand

You can not buy one from Toyota.

You might be able to find a used one in the South West getting it to the Northeast will be expensive even if you went for it yourself.

 

how does the replacemnt thing work do i have to be the original owner or can you be just the title holder and get it done?

 

It is a extended warranty for 15 years. any owner

Depending on the year the truck needed to be inspected by a Toyota Dealer in 2012 ( Not sure of the date) and have the frame sprayed

If you now have holes and it was inspected take it in and get reinspected .

 

In Canada where most of the frames are replaced still today, if the original owner ignored the recall letters sent out the vehicle was no longer covered. They did a 2002 this winter, came in with the gas tank tied up because the frame mount gave out.
