Sunroof / Moonroof for '03 DCab

I would like to get a sunroof for my '03 double cab. I do lots of 4wheelin and am concerned about the unit rattling or leaking while off road. Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket sunroofs and tacomas? On the double cab, it seems like you almost could put in something for the rear seats as well. How about pop-up versus retractable?

I once ran across a nice write up on a retractable sunroof done in Colorado Springs on a Tacoma.

Thanks for your input!

Noone has replied yet, so I figured I would share what I found....

Basically the best manufacturer of popup and sliding sunroofs is Webasto. Supposedly they supply Toyota OEM. Here is their website http://www.webasto.us/press/en/am_au...oofs_3425.html

The big question now is whether installing a motorized sunroof is a bad idea if you go wheeling a bunch. Wondering if there are any trail runners out there that have a aftermarket sunroof... and if they have had any problems?

Don't ya hate it when nobody replies to your questions.

Sorry I really can't help ya much. I would think it would be no problems if the installer installs the unit correctly. Just like the factory, if the factory messes up, you'll end up w/ leaks and other problems. So I would say if you plan to do it, ensure that the install knows what he is suppose to do.

You also might check out www.tacomaterritory.com as they are a large tacoma organization and I'm sure there are members there that might have done this exact mod you're questioning.

Please do reply back when you find out some more info as that will be very educational for the other members here.

Good Luck
