Recommendation for shock replacements

I am thinking about replacing the stock shocks on my 1999 4Runner 2WD SR5 V6 with 115,000 miles.

I do absolutely no off-roading (it's 2WD) and have 15" wheels.

Good on-road driving characteristics (nice ride and good handling) are a priority for me. Any recommendations?

I liked my pro comp 9000's they had a great ride nice price and I did offroading but it helped so much with the bumps. They are pretty good shocks aspecialy for the price. If you want real nice get some bilstiens, even the stock like replacements they sell are amazing. Check out performanceproducts.com they sell both and a few more but those are what I recomend

Bilstiens if you do not mind paying a bit for them or Tokicos. Real nice and affordable.

Bilsteins! Firm but not stiff. Good handling. Worth the price.

phht..I'd just go with some monroe reflex or sensatracs if you're using stock springs and don't plan to upgrade. Sure Bilsteins or tokico's would be nice...I'd get em if cost isn't an issue, but I think a little overkill if it's just a plain ol daily driver and you're looking for a nice comfortable ride. I put sensatracs on stock springs and it drove 100% better, especially when turning...no more spongy leaning when turning hard. I've since then upgraded to PP springs and wish I had the billies to match, not enough damping for the progressive spring rate.

I had Bilstein, for my 98 4R DD, since around 100,000 miles, now I just pass 175,000. It is one of the best upgrade I have for my 4R. It offer great control on road, specially during cornering. It is not so hot off road, I definitely feel every bump & pot during off road.
