Just purchased a 1995.5 tacoma. 2.7 motor with a 5 speed manual. 69000 miles. noticed i am getting oil in my coolant overflow. Bad head gasket at 69000 miles. could it be something else. Drives good. no smoke.

 

Does the 2.7 have a oil cooler like the 3.4 ??? I've seen an oil cooler on a 3.4 let go and fill the coolant with oil.

 

Are you sure its oil and not just like sediment or rust or anything?

 

My Corolla has been doing the same thing for 3 years. LOL!

 

i am kicking myself because i checked all the other fluids but never looked in the overflow. It almost looked like somebody made a mistake and put oil or maybe power steering fluid in the overflow. i had the coolant flushed and replaced but there is still something floating on top. I am sure they didn't get all of it out and that could be what i see.
