Guys-

I am really excited! I flew out to San Diego with my wife and picked up our "new" 4Runner.

Details:

1996 SR5 V6 4x4, 5spd, 66K miles

The seller added the following options at time of purchase:

4.10 Rear
16x7 Wheels
Leather Package
Power Package
Sunroof

As you can see, I am really excited about this truck!

I cant wait to start modding!

A couple concerns:

1. I got 16.3 MPG going 80MPH in a headwind. Is that fairly normal?

2. Mainly in 1st gear, I hear a "whine" when driving slowly. Its also there in 2nd gear, but not as loud. Is this ok?

My 5spd makes similar noises in low gears. Not so much in 2nd as in 1st.

 

Congrats on the purchase, a very clean looking rig. That green is my favorite 4Runner color. I looked around for a green 3rd gen for a while before I bought my gold 2nd gen.... there simply were none near here. Of course, 2 wks after I signed on and picked up my current rig, they got a beautiful one in on trade.
