Lift Prices?

I own a 2nd gen runner i was was wondering how much a 4 inch lift might cost? When they lift it what do they replace? I was just thinking if it would be better to get a lift rather than replace the shocks and springs separately if they are included in the lift. Do you have to get a body lift as well? Just a rookie wondering, Thanks!

a 4 inch lift for a 2nd gen like mine and yours cost around 1000 bucks but you can find others for cheaper. As for the body lift it runs around 100 - 200 dollars(maybe more), many people dont recommend them but people do get them with their suspension lifts. Here's a good site for a pro comp suspension lift http://www.4x4cyberstore.com/website/pcs_03.html

the only reason you would want or need to get a body lift is to clear big tires. body lifts do nothing for anything accept making more room for bigger tires whereas suspension lifts allow for more flex, higher ground clearance, and alot of other advantages. well worth the extra money. with the 2nd gen you're lucky because a lot of companies offer lifts for it. just do a search for this "suspension lift toyota 4runner" on any internet search engine and you should find oodles of sites, info, suspension kits, prices, and stuff for it. you can also check here:

Oh my.

4" IFS lift cost new should be around a grand.

Bodylifts should be about $100.

Neither of them increase suspension travel. The IFS lift adds new shocks and coils, but those should be replaced anyway.

There was a really good thread about this a couple of weeks ago. Good reading for parts of it.

Depends on the lift you get. There are suspension lifts that increase the travel so if that's what you are looking to do than look for a kit that does.
