Exclamation Just got mine!

Just picked up a sweet 97 SR5 with 37K.

Can I start using synthetic oil on my next oil change? Or does it need to be synthetic from the start or not at all. I was thinking Mobil 1 / Napa Gold Filter every 10K, problems>? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Will

Congrats on a wonderful purchase. I would go ahead and change to synthetic. I would do it a little more often though b/c im more anal about my rig. I would do it every 3-4k. haha. Show us some pics. And that is super low milage for a 97. i have 180k!

Iilluminati, congrats on your purchase! Be prepared for a lightening of your wallet if you hang around here.

Localmotion, That's jsut a waste of money to chage synthetic oil that often. Stay with good old mineral oil if actually stick to that frequecy. IMHO. Take the $$$$ saved and spend it on more mods!

Did you buy it off of ebay motors? I remember seeing a 97 or 98 with 37k miles on it...

Make the switch to syn, I use Mobil 1 5w30. Now its time to start some mods!!
