Ideal BS for wheels when wheel spacers aren't desired?

Well I've read and read and still no sure where I stand. I have LTD 5 Spokes (for sale) that have 4.6" or 4 5/8" if you will BS and wheel spacers @ 1" making my total spacing 3.6" or 3 5/8". So given the 3" numbers, am I after a wheel with 3.5 +/- BS? I would prefer a well built rim (fancy the toyota wheels) and would love a set of LX450 but what else is out there for a reasonable price?

no. pretty sure the BS is measured from Lip to mounting surface on the back of the wheel... meaning that a the 1" spacer would make it a total of 5.6"

You sure on factory spacing of 4.5"???

Seems like 16x8 w/ 4.5" BS is the magic number for everyone

Hate to say it but w/o spacers the M/T Classic was the only wheel I could find as I had the same problem.

Nope it goes the other way the smaller the # the further the outer lip is from the mounting surface. With a wheel spacer it decreases if you will the #. The bigger the # the closer the outer lip and the tire are to the mounting surface or vehicle. It works like this your mounting surface is =0 closer to the vehicle results in a +# and further from the vehicle results in a -#. With 16x7 @ 4.5 bs(current setup) I have to run a 1" wheel spacer to achieve 3.5 bs and less and my tires would eat my upper a-arms or vise versa. Vermejo I to can only find the damn MT's in the proper spacing, sure there are plenty of wheels I like out there but none can be run w/o the spacer. I was equally pissed to find the AR ATX Thug only comes in 17", was sad when I found the KMC enduro wheel but not enough spacing 4.5+. I flirted with trying another brand of spacer but all high end units are over 1.25" which is more than I want. I know there is some speculation about how the vehicle handles with the wheels out further but to tell you the truth when I removed the spacers yesterday to determine whether the spacers were knocking my balance off. I Noticed less cornering and rubbing, of course I the tires were pulled in 1" closer .

for 4.5" BS confirmation. Not to mention I don't run 295's to fill the gap I set it up to fit 315's and went the next size down of course I skipped 305 but the actual numbers were pretty close.
