Well how do you get them off? I have already broke a few clicps and i don't want to brake anything else. I just can't get them all the way off. And all the searching and reading i have done is either for older models or the regular model that has a differnt panel setup.

I need to get them all off so i can install my new speakers. Thanks!

Ummm... Take off the plastic thing around the handle, you can "pry" the power windows buttons off, then start pulling off the stuff peice by peice but, Im sure that doesnt help much.

If the 00 is the same as a 98, then first take out the screw off the doorhandle, remove the metal rod from the doorhandle, then the doorhandle will come out, pry off the cloth portion of the armrest, take out the 2 screws. There will also be 2 plastic "rivets" one on the side of the door and the other near the front, push the rivet in and you should be able to take out the rivets. Then the panel should pop right off.

I wish I would've taken pics because I took my door panels off just this weekend, to put some PNS on my doors. It's easier than it looks.

I used Bob's writeup, it explains how to take off the door panels: http://www.4runners.org/writeups/sound/index.html

I use the "professional" car audio installer technique: Unbolt everything in sight and yank till the damn thing rips off.

Seriously, it's not rocket science, bolt on the door handle...pop handle through door panel, bolts under armrest, one little button near the front...then pull till the damn things rips off They have a cool little tool at most hardware stores for removing those tree-looking retaining clips, looks like a wide screwdriver with a split tip that pulls up the panel around the clips. I've only broken a few clips since I started using it, out of about 25 installs. That, or get 2 screw drivers and pry on either side of the clip, or pull with your hands on either side of the clip.

Thanks for all the info!

I finally got it off (with a few broken clips but what the hey)!

I had not seen that the arm rest comes off and there are 2 screws there. Once i got those out it broke one clip and came right out. Now i just need some clips....

Thanks for the help!
