Help w/ ADD tube removal - contaminated bearing

In the process of removing and replacing the old front differential seals and cv axles I somehow managed to drop a ceramic coffee mug which broke and placed a few tiny shards of ceramic bits within the exposed bearing. I have attempted to clean most of the bits out; however, there is still one or two very small bits somewhere causing a very slight grit in the bearing.

What I would like to do is detach the ADD tube and remove the inner "intermediate shaft" to expose the bearing so I can flush it and re-lubricate it without contaminating the rest of the differential. My question is for those of you that have removed the ADD tube, what is the process of releasing the intermediate shaft from the housing to expose the bearing? The closest thing I could find is this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/...system.427258/

Any insight would be appreciated as I don't want to cause any further damage by trying to force something out without knowledge of how it fits together. The shop manual is not very helpful and I have exhausted any other references I can think of.

Thanks so much!
