Hello there Fellow 4runners,
Im new here, Just bought a 2000 4runner 2wd 2 weeks ago used it 7 times, then I made a Home depot chip key (80.00) And it worked great straight from home depot. I would use both keys then 4 days after that, one day it didn't start, i checked the back door, then the truck started.4 minutes later. 2 days later it didn't start any more with either OEM master key nor the Home Depot key, towed it home. Then upon doing some reading I saw that the security never stops blinking even when inserting any key. I had the CPE or computer thingy cleared out of past keys.memories.and Nothing, then I purchased a transceiver immobilizer ring and nothing. I also bought a Junkyard CPE (computer thingy) had its memory cleared out. The Key guy also tried different keys and the security light never stops blinking, So i cant start the truck which does turn over, all electrical stuff works just wont start. I could take it to a dealer or tech but im afraid they can fix it by replacing parts until one works. But since im about to get laid off at end of month i have to be freaking frugal now. anyone ever run into this? is there a workaround? Any suggestions on what i should or need to do. would be greatly appreciated.Thank you all.
