Front Oil Seals ??

Hi,

I'm getting ready to replace my timing belt on an 01-v6-(107K), I'll also be replacing the water pump and drive belts.

What do you all think about replacing the crank oil seal, or even the cams as well?

They are not leaking and I'm wondering if I should leave well-enough, alone..

Thanks
Doug

i don't think those have recommended replacement intervals- may just be me, but i'd leave "well enough alone" unless something happens.

the seals will most likely outlast your new timing belt/water pump, right?...

Just did a friends of mine 99' w/167k miles.waterpump/t-belt,ect.
I replaced the seals since we were in there, maybe 20$ in parts,I also did his valve cover gaskets while in there as well,so it made the cam seals go much easier, they were leaking bad(valve covers). The cam seals were in ok shape when I pulled them out, just starting to get hard...the crank seal was starting to get hard,so its a good thing I talked him into replacing them..

I was not sure if the idler pulley,or tensioner pulley would need replacing, but they seemed fine at 167k..so we left them alone....But the next time I do mine it gets new pulleys(2nd t-belt).

Thanks,

I guess I'll leave them alone for now. I need 3-4 years out of this truck, enough time to get my last daughter out of college. @ 20K per year that should see me dumping it before the next belt is due.
