Fair price?

Well I went to have a brake inspection done today and turns out I needed my front rotors and rear drums all resurfaced. Cost me $185.00 total. Good deal or no? (I'm new to this stuff )

i don't know what a shop charges for that, but i did some lathe work in shop class back in high school and i can't see it costing that much. ask them what they'd charge you just for the machining, if you were to pull the rotors and drums and bring them in to have it done. i bet it's a lot cheaper.

If it's an older truck, the rotors are a fleepin' pain to get off, so that's not a bad price if you're driving it in and having it all done. You have to remove the lockout hubs, take off the axle nut and pull the hub body, then pound out the wheel studs to remove the rotor. IFS trucks are different, I believe, but you still have to remove the acle nut and some stuff. What year is your truck?
