CV boot Part numbers

I searched and have read all the threads, called the dealer, the part I bought doesn't seem to be made the same. Bought #04438-35060, for my 97 4runner sr5. The thread search revealed part #04438-35022 for a T-100?? The parts I have have a firm plastic boot and a soft rubber boot, plus grease, rings, and clamps. My truck has two soft boots. Is this new??

I have read that the longer you go with the CV joint exposed to dirt and debris, the higher the likelihood of CV/axle damage. In addition, I would like the soft rubber boots no the plastic one... Some info found on off-road.com. http://forums.off-road.com/toyota-su...d-cv-boot.html

in scenarios such as this its much easier and wiser to just replace the whole axle. autozone/advanced auto sells each complete axle for a little bit over 100 with a core charge that gets reimbursed when you bring your old broken one back in. good thing is that they have a lifetime warranty so that'll be the only time you'll buy one
