Hey all I am going to try to get these sun shades off of this truck tomorrow and wanted to see if anyone had done this before since the search yielded nada. I know that they are attached to the rubber stripping on the window track with 3M adhesive tape, and this is what gives me pause. I dont want to end up ruining the seal getting these off and have a leaky, windy cabin all the way around... I was planning on getting a hair dryer and getting them nice and toasty before pulling them off...Im out of adhesive remover and dont feel like driving to get some tomorrow in this hurricane. If its not a necessity, then ill skip it. Thoughts or experience?

the rubber seal is part of the vehiocle, not the plastic of the vent visors

como? I know that the plastic is independent of the weather stripping... I dont want the rubber pulled OUT and the seal with the window ruined when I try to get these off..

oh its your truck..... the way i was reading i thought you meant you were going to take some off a truck like at a junkyard to install on yours.....

it should be fine... the rubber is pretty tough..... a haridryer will probably make it easier as well

Cut them away using a dental floss string (any flavor) then dissolve the residue with charcoal lighter fluid (kerosene). It will not react with rubber or paint. Going to take a while, but with this method you risk no damage to anything.

done yesterday in about 5 minutes. I think i spent more time thinking about it and writing this thread than removing them Lesson Learned = the angle at which you pull > dissolving adhesive
