There are a few posts prior to this if you want the screwed up story. Long story short, my motor went bad, Got a new/used motor, eventually got the truck back basically after the guy said he was tired of working on it. The truck runs. BARELY. It idols very hard, like it’s misfiring on a couple cylinders. I’m in the Marine Corps, so I only get to mess with it for a few hours once eevery few months. So I’m home because of hurricane Florence. I pop the hood to see what I can and I see this hose, disconnected. Can someone tell me exactly what this is? Side note for bonus points, my clutch pedal is stuck to the floor now 🙃

That hose is filtered fresh air for the crankcase. ^ is right, it connects to the empty hole in the intake tube. The reason your truck idles so high is because of that huge hole in the intake tube where this pipe connects to. Since it's after the MAF sensor, which measures the air coming into the engine, it makes your truck go crazy.
