axle code

Any one want to set me straight on this axle code?

JT3HN86R5X023094 FRAME VZN185L A03A/R150F

It seems the A03A is a 7.5" ring gear, and a 4.10? A 7.5" inch with an electric on it? Got a lot of readin' to do checking if it can be put in an 8". (V6 FRAME VZN130 G144) Thinkin proly not.

I'm not quite sure what your asking, you're missing some of the code.?, a 7.5" in a 8" housing not likely, "4:10 with an electric"?, they didn't produce any 4runners with 4:10 and an e-locker for the USDM, Tacos, you never know what they did between 4cyl and v6 but no 4:10 with elocker AFAIK.

Perhaps this will help.

I have a factory 5-spd manual e-locker - it had 4.10 axles on it - I swapped 4.30 front and rear diffs in when the 4.10 rear got a little noisy.

Based on the R150F part above I think he has a manual trans as well.

I don't think they varied the differential 'sizes' among third gen 4Runners, it's not like the much lighter weight 2WD drivetrains vs. the heavy 4WD/Prerunner drivetrains in the Taco, I think the 4R's all got the heavy duty stuff.

Also, you can take a Toyota VIIN here: https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-veh...-specification and see what it came with from the factory. But I'm getting 'invalid VIN' from that one.

And reading the post again, I think the question is if you can put an elocker 3rd (VZN185) gen diff or axle into a 2nd gen (VZN130)?

Not a clue on that. I mean, in terms of it being bolt in. FWIW the locker diffs don't directly fit non-locker 3rd gen housings - a couple of the bolts are different and there's a notch in the housing where the diff's locking mechanism slides in. So that part won't fit, not sure about swapping the entire axle without some level of fabrication.

Oops Jomoka! My bad.
I dropped a digit. Kinda like I dropped 10 bux the other day out of pocket. My lotto bux !

ANd help for your alls help the other day, too.
Heres a pic of door, and according to sonoransteel, with the 265's on it (which it does have) it does have a 4.10
Yes it is a 5 speed. Which is my big score on the 3.4L (the ECM).

Also, on the diff swap. I did read I believe on Zuks site, that I would have a problem with axle shaft lengths if nothing else. And of course, carve out the housing.
But, my 95 (auto) is a 4.88, and whatever this 99 is, is not 4.88's. So theres that.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Here's another factory manual/locker truck - per the axle code it's a 4.10 as well: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ng_ending_soon

A03A = 4.10
A04A = 4.30
A05A = 4.56

With the last one being very rare. Probably rarer than the 4.10 e-locker diffs, which (from what I've seen) were on manual lockers. Manuals are rare, lockers are rare, so the combination is far rarer (at least from the factory).
