Alarm

Will be installing a aftermarket alarm this month. Anyone have some input on brands? Features I'm looking for include rear and front sensors, and a remote start option for the engine. Im confident I can get a killer deal from my audio shop.

Anyone have the TRIAD system? (Has a chip on your keychain and unless sensed under your dash, it locks out the ignition) I have this installed now, will it be functional still once I install a alarm?

Phil I've got a Clifford Arrow III alarm in mine. Works great but there is no rear detector. I been wanting to check in and see if I can get one added on. The Arrow is kinda the basic alarm Clifford makes but I know they have alot of other models to choose from. Overall I am happy with mine, especially since I had no factory one.

hey
last year i had the compu star installed in my 98 4runner...i love it. it has every feature you can think of on this thing. it has a starter kill if someone tries to steal it and has a warn away beep if someone bumps into my truck. the remote has a picture of a car on it. whenever the alarm is going off the car will have a picture of a hammer banging on the top of the car..if somone opens the doors a pic of the door will open on the remote, same with the trunk and if someone breaks the windows the remote will show a pic of the glass breaking. it also is a remote stater you can start your truck from 1 and a quater mile..(as long as its in a straight line of the truck). the features i didnt have the shop hook up are the paging thing...if someone knocks on your window a pic of a phone will appear on the remote..you can take the key out of the ingition when it is still running ( good for when you get gas). have the window roll up when you arm it, or you can have the back window go up or down, and if you have lights on your truck like me you can turn those on with the remote. there are more things you can do with this remote but i will be writing a novel in here.. yeah this is a very pricey remote but i think it is well worth it.. i paid i think around 800 bucks for the alarm and that includes installation. i think thats its pointless for you not to know if your alarm is going off or not. this is a good investment i belive because i compete in stereo competitions and i have thousands of dollars of equipment installed in my truck.
