I have a 99 4runner; 3.4l... Trying to id a component...

If you are standing in front of the vehicle looking underhood, what is the component in the back left-hand corner and what is it purpose? It has 5 or 6 metal lines coming out the top of it... has "Aisin" labeled on the side of it. It sits on the passenger side wheel well.

Might seem like a silly question, but I gotta know. Thanks in advance.

 

ABS actuator or modulator. Something like that I'll bet. Follow the lines; two should go to the brake master cylinder.

 

Exactly right, it is ABS
