A friend of mine bought an Amsoil filter for her Runner and it seems that it's a little too big for the airbox. She can't snap the clips shut and approx. 1/2" of the filter sticks out of the airbox all the way around. Anybody else had this prob? I verified the part # over at the Amsoil site and she has the correct one according to the invoice and box.

 

Arnold, I use to run a K&N in my '90 truck with the 22RE in it.
Do you know if the air boxes are the same size as hers?

Mine was a tight fit, but it went in all the way.
I beleive there are 4 clips, and it's rectangular in shape for the box.

 

Corey, the later 22RE airboxes are slightly larger than the earlier 22RE's. I found this out after ordering an Amsoil air filter for my truck. Somehow, the factory manage to send me a later style filter and it didn't even come close to fitting. I wasn't really impress w/ the construction of the filter either and that's why I think a stock Toy filter is better. The Amsoil filter looked like it would filter a lot better compared to a K&N though.
