I can turn it about 1/2 turn then it just don't want to turn anymore. Put anti seize on them and the rest of them come out fine. Don't want to strip out the threads or break the plug off. Any ideas on getting it out?

Sounds like it might already be crossthreaded so you might be in for some thread repair. I can't get 5 of my plugs loose easily so I'm leaving them for now since the truck still runs well and gets me to work. When I have another vehicle to use I'll tackle the rest of the plugs and just pray I don't loose any threads in the heads.

 

take it to the dealer; nominal cost/minimum bother. i always piggyback the #6 plug removal/replacement onto other stuff at the dealer b/c it is such a PITA.

I tried that....still no good. funny thing is the last time I changed my plugs it went in fine. No cross threading issues what so ever.

 

next time when u put ur plugs in put a little bit of motor oil on the threads makes it easier to get em in and out. I dunno I've had 6 be tough to get out too but I just wrenched it out with the motor warm, may not be a good idea tho if there is an actual prob with the threads.

 

I always use finger-threading as much as possible. Put the socket and extension on the plug, then thread it in with your fingers. Only foolproof way to know whether or not you're cross-threading. Use the ratchet to tighted/loosen, then finger-thread the rest of it.

But, since it's already probably cross-threaded, I'd take it somewhere to get it fixed. Take it from me... it's NO FUN trying to fix something like that yourself... especially on the 3.0. The only fully safe way to do it for someone inexperienced is to take the head off.
