4WD conversion ?

4WD conversion ?
Ok, I am gathering parts for a 2wd to 4wd conversion. It will be non-add with manual hubs. So I won't need the 4x4 ECU, 1 thing I have come across from reading all the threads I can find on this subject. Is the A340e in a 2wd 4runner the same as in the 2wd Lexus. I ask this because I haven't found out if I can simply remove the 2wd tail section and bolt on a 4wd tail section or will I also need to replace the output shaft with a 4wd shaft? I know on the Lexus A340e conversion that I looked the shaft had to be replaced, but that was to using the tranny and tranfer case in a 2nd gen with passenger side drop. I thought about using ADD and weld up the front end for a poor mans locker. Lock the hubs with ADD(air operated) in 4WD full locked off road and unlock for open on harder surfaces. I know this is a wierd way to do this, until I can get another diff and set it up with an aussie locker.
